Galapagos | Iguana (Land/Marine)

Iguana (Land/Marine)

Marine lizards can be found throughout the Galapagos archipelago. They have a very ingenious body temperature management system and feed on algae and seaweed. The largest specimens grow up to 150 cm.

The land iguanas may be over 120 cm in size and weigh 15 kg. The peaceful “dragons” mostly eat fruit or plants and sometimes insects. They have a life expectancy of up to 60 years.
