Galapagos | Lava Lizards

Lava Lizards

Besides 10 different species of geckos there are seven types of lava lizards on the Galapagos who feed on plants and insects. Between 20 – 30 cm in size, the small reptiles cannot compete with the impressive iguanas or giant tortoises but do offer wonderful patterns and colourings.

The heads of female lava lizards have a red or orange colouring.
